Who We Are
The Academic Affairs Division is dedicated to serving students, faculty, and staff throughout Highline College in advancing our mission: As a South King County college striving for social justice, Highline College partners with global students as they envision, plan and achieve their educational and professional goals. Members of the Academic Affairs Division engage in ongoing assessment and improvement processes. Staff use the Institutional Effectiveness Plan process to set annual goals aligned with the college’s strategic priorities, and regularly assess progress on those goals. On a rotating basis, faculty teams engage in a year-long program improvement process. Faculty also independently complete a quarterly assessment report, reflecting on student learning outcomes in their classes. Faculty and staff in Academic Affairs are jointly responsible for advising students and share the goal of providing students with a smooth entry point into college, clear academic pathways and advisors to support them in completing their educational goals.
